Arrival – Talk to them

Another review by Anthony Lane in The New Yorker convinced me to go to the cinema and see “Arrival”. The movie stuck with me for several days, which is one of my favorite feeling, and was for once a very unusual sci-fi type of movie, not an action-based one with a strong female character for once.

arrival_finalAs Anthony Lane highlighted, Amy Adams is a linguist by trade; she (and not her scientist partner) saves the day and this is a new Hollywood trend where superheroes & special agents are replaced by people with proper jobs.

Like he says it lingers because of the “emotional intensity that blows through the film“, supported by Jóhann Jóhannsson’s music.
