2018 in review

2017 was a wash (except for the Trip of a Lifetime) and didn’t deserve a retrospective and I’m grateful that 2018 has been kinder.

> got serious with pilates with private classes, improved my breaststroke swimming technique and learned front crawl swimming (never too late) with a coach

> started contributing to the Singapore Tourism Board – Insider program

> became officially part of SheSaysSG, leading Who’s Your Momma mentoring programme

> moved to Tiong Bahru and now get to enjoy this Art Deco neighbourhood after our discovery few years back

> read 11 issues of the New Yorker (2017 highlights and 2018 highlights)

> attended 8 events:

Hush20 pop-up restaurant for their free flow raclette (missed their mussels with french fries in December 2018)

PS Café Christmas with Cordero Di Montezemolo at Palais Renaissance, sitting literally next to wine maker Alberto Cordero. An amazing evening!

> traveled to 11 countries and reconnected with 9 long-time friends & family visiting Singapore (James, Nathalie, Jean-Mi, Aram, Cecile, Spiro, Guillaume, Sarah, Elo & Seb)

– started 2018 at home in Singapore with my best friend James visiting from London, enjoying my favorite semi-buffet afternoon tea with free flow champagne at 10 Scotts at the Hyatt

– Japan (Tokyo for work 7 times in 6 months including for sakura in Spring)

– Korea (Seoul for work)

– Sri Lanka (lovely road trip across UNESCO heritage sites, tea country, train across rice paddies, safari (without the leopards unfortunately) and the coast with the best scones I’ve had in Galle

– Mauritius where I learned water skiing, nailing it in 3 sessions

– Perth and Margaret River

– China (Shanghai for work), reconnecting with long-time friend Wen Tao from London)

– Bali for my birthday

– China (for fun in Beijing (with blue sky!), Xian – finally realising my 20-year old dream of seeing the terracotta army, and Yang Shuo)

– Italy (Tuscany for the hubby’s big birthday)

Tanzania 7 days safari for the hubby’s big birthday – meeting amazing leopards, cheetahs, lions, elephants, giraffes zebras and many more

– Phuket to reconnect after 5 years with my friend Amanda from London
