Hidden Wonders – Sia’s response to stardom


I love Sia and have followed her since “Breathe Me” made it to my iPod somewhere between 2005 and 2007. I remember seeing her dancing in the audience of CSS gig 2 rows in front of me in London in 2008, the night before her own gig and being told to sit down by the security (not recognizing her haha).

In her crazy carpool karaoke with James Corden, she explains the wig she now wears as a response to the lack of mystery in pop music at an age of

“pictures on Instagram of everyone at the dentist”

Their sign-along on “Chandelier” and all the hits they hum make me wish I’d drive more and be in my bubble singing with Sia

The article confirms this and goes a little but further to explain that Sia’s chief talent is understanding what audiences want, ie.

“mostly, that we like to feel a sense of triumph over adversity, real or imagined.”
